‘A Huge Advancement’: New High-Tech Help For People Who Suffer With Bunions

September 27, 2019 – In an interview with CBS 3 in Philadelphia, Dr. Jason Miller at Premiere Orthopedics in Collegeville shared that he offers his patients a more “patient-friendly” alternative to traditional bunion surgery with Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction™, a procedure that offers faster recovery and a lower chance for recurrence.1

In his clinical experience, he says the Lapiplasty® Procedure has reduced the surgery time from two hours to 30 minutes and that he’s observed less swelling and pain, along with a quicker recovery in his patients.

His patient Jill Extract had a bunion, a foot deformity that millions of men and women suffer with. “The bunion was extremely disruptive” shared Extract who competes in triathlons. She says having her foot “back in working order was major because I couldn’t run, I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t do anything with my foot because the pain was so excruciating.” She didn’t want traditional surgery because the long painful recovery would keep her from running and there was high chance the bunion would return.

Extract says there was some minimal discomfort right after the Lapiplasty® Procedure and now she’s back in action. “It’s absolutely remarkable. I did not expect to be able to do a five-mile race four months post-op,” she said.
