New Procedure For Bunion Sufferers

May 14, 2019 — Dr. Daniel Methuselah at Columbia Podiatry in Irmo, SC described the Lapiplasty® 3D Bunion Correction™ Procedure to NBC affiliate WIS-TV as a more advanced approach to correcting bunions. “This procedure is more advanced … it actually corrects all the facets of the orientation [all three dimensions of the bunion*] so it decreases the chance of recurrence. So that’s a big improvement.” The Lapiplasty® Procedure allows him to correct the deformity in all three dimensions and secure the previously unstable joint in place, which lessens the risk of the bunion returning over time.

His patient, Kathie, opted for the procedure on her right foot after dealing with severe pain that impacted her ability to travel and spend quality time with her grandchildren. Kathie was up and walking in a boot a few weeks after the procedure and three months after surgery, Kathie is back in her walking shoes and has already been shoe shopping.
